Pearls on the lake

In addition to the castles and parks, die  Beatushöhlen (St. Beatus Caves) are also a genuine pearl on the lake. A footpath leads through the forest from the  Beatushöhlen/ Sundlauenen landing stage to the cave entrance.

Over millions of years, water has created on bizarre, but also magical rock landscapes in the caves. A part of the extensive, kilometre-long cave system is open to the public, and offers an insight into a wonderful and unique world, with grottos, waterfalls and stalactite formations.

If you’re arriving with the ship, it is recommended to make a short stop on the way to the St. Beatus Caves at one of the bistros at the Oberhofen or Spiez landing stages. Nowhere else can you enjoy the dolce far niente when leaving the ship better than at these attractive places. The Bay of Spiez is also one of the most beautiful in the whole of Switzerland.
