The castles around Lake Thun offer something for every taste.

 Thun Castle, dating back to the Middle Ages, towers over the city, dominant and powerful. The mighty Rittersaal (Knights’ Hall) will transport you back to the time of the lords and ladies of the castle. The view from the castle passes over the city, the lake and the mountains.

 The Schadau Castle in Schadau Park is something for romantic souls. Not for nothing is the castle and its grounds a popular destination for marriage parties. In summer, the meadows around the castle are full of sun worshippers and bathers.

 The Oberhofen Castle lies directly on the lake. The castle grounds are one of the most beautiful landscape gardens in the Alps. The most beautiful way to arrive at the castle is by ship.

 Hünegg Castle: Small castle hidden in a small wood at a slightly elevated position above Lake Thun. An insider’s tip with wonderful gardens. The Hünegg-Open takes place here once a year, with local artists taking part. Entrance is free.
